A Steel Pipe Plant Was on Fire in Daqiao Town, Jiangdu City
On July 8, 2014, a fire broke out in a steel pipe plant in Daqiao Town, Jiangdu City. Huge black smoke was billowing on site. Reporters were rejected to do on-the-site interview. An unnamed worker said that a hydraulic oil pipeline fell apart. Because of the hydraulic oil leakage, the fire broke out. Luckily, the fire was put out in time so that the loss is small and the accident caused no casualties.
Around 9:20 in the morning, a huge black smoke rose suddenly from a steel pipe plant, and it attracted the attention of residents and workers next door. A local person who was weeding near the factory said that the wind was not so big at that time. That the black smoke was billowing up looks so terrible. Due to large scope of the factory, and we separated by a stream about 10 meters with the outside world, so we failed to come to see where was on fire and to smell something acrid. Twenty or thirty minutes later, the fire trucks came, and the fire was put out soon.
Reporters tried to enter the plant to do an interview, but the guard blocked them. Until noon, it was revealed by one worker who asked for not to be named that on the morning of the plant, an oil pipeline of 6300 tons of forging machine rupture, and the hydraulic oil leaked after being ignited. The fire range was about dozens of square, and it was not so big, but the hydraulic oil burning smoke was very big which looked terrible.
